What changed
The subreddit catalog behind the free research tools is now available to any AI agent connected to Prowlo's MCP server, through three new tools:
catalog_search_subreddits— semantic search over the ~1,200 tracked communities: describe a product, audience, or problem and get ranked matches with subscribers, activity, 30-day growth, and promo tolerance.catalog_get_subreddit— the full stat card for one community (growth, posting cadence, promo tolerance, tracking history), plus similar communities by content and by shared audience.catalog_top_subreddits— the largest, most-active, and fastest-growing rankings, filterable by subscriber band.
All three are free and unmetered — they read Prowlo's own cached catalog, not live Reddit, so they never touch your daily live-read cap.
Why it matters
"Which subreddits should we watch?" is the first question of any Reddit monitoring setup, and until now your agent couldn't answer it — it could search live Reddit (metered) or your own Dataset, but not the vetting data on the public tools pages. Now the whole loop runs in one conversation: the agent searches the catalog, vets candidates by activity and promo tolerance, expands the shortlist with audience-overlap neighbours, and calls watcher_create on the winners.
How to use it
Nothing to configure — the tools appear automatically on every connected agent (setup guide). Try asking: "Find subreddits where small SaaS teams complain about analytics pricing, check which ones are actually active, and start watching the best three."
