Social data layer for AI agents
Reddit and X delivered to your agent through one MCP-native API. Semantic search, structured records, residential-proxy crawl.
We built Prowlo because every Reddit-data tool we tried either depended on Reddit's commercial API (and got priced out, like GummySearch in November 2025) or shipped raw JSON your agent had to wade through. The middle ground didn't exist. So we built it.
Reddit, X, Hacker News, Mastodon, and RSS — all on the same record schema. More sources on the roadmap.
Full MCP access on every account — no card to start. Then $19/mo for your own Watchers.
Reddit's commercial API rate we sidestep by crawling through our own proxies.
Prowlo is fully hosted — the crawl, proxies, and MCP endpoint are all ours. Add one config block; there’s nothing to deploy or maintain.
Built because the Reddit-data middle tier disappeared
Prowlo started in 2024 as a Reddit lead-gen tool for SaaS founders. Then Reddit's commercial API ate the middle tier — solo-dev tools couldn't pay the bills, enterprise listening platforms charged $10K+/mo, and the gap between them got wider every month.
We pivoted to what we wished existed: an MCP-native social data layer. Reddit and X crawled through residential proxies, embedded for semantic search, delivered via MCP, REST, or webhook. Same schema across every source.
Now Prowlo serves AI agent builders, content researchers, growth ops teams, and data engineers — all hitting the same Dataset, all on one flat plan, all hitting the same hosted MCP endpoint. One product, four ICPs.
Principles that guide everything we build
Agent-first, not dashboard-first
Prowlo is an API your agent calls, not a UI you open. Every feature ships through MCP or REST first, with the dashboard as a thin view layer on top of the same surface.
Fully managed, nothing to run
Prowlo is hosted end to end — the residential-proxy crawl, anti-bot handling, embeddings, and the MCP endpoint all run on our infrastructure. You add one config block and your agent is reading Reddit; there’s no server to deploy, scale, or babysit.
One flat plan, no surprises
No compute units (Apify). No filter caps (Syften). No bandwidth quotas (Bright Data). One plan: 14-day free trial, then $19/mo for up to 25 Watchers across subreddits, Reddit users, Hacker News, Mastodon, RSS & X. You always know what you'll pay.
Built by one founder, Egidijus A.
Prowlo is a one-person shop based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Egidijus A. has been working on Reddit-data infrastructure since 2024 — first for SaaS founder lead-gen, now for the broader agent-first data layer.
Every feature ships through MCP first, the dashboard second, the marketing site third. That order matters: it forces us to build for agents, not for vanity.
Egidijus writes about Reddit, MCP, and the economics of building developer tools. Posts and details are on theauthor page.
