What changed
Four fixes to what lands in an alert and how it's described:
- One notification per post. When a community Watcher and a keyword search both find the same thread, you get one line, not two.
- Crossposts collapse. The same author posting identical content to several communities now shows as one line with a "+N crossposts" note.
- Correct locations. Posts found by keyword search are labelled with the community they were actually posted in, instead of the search term that found them. Hacker News results are no longer labelled as if they were subreddits.
- No more history announced as news. When you add a Watcher, its first sweep of older posts stays out of your alerts — only genuinely new mentions notify you.
Why it matters
An alert you stop trusting is worse than no alert. Each of these made a batch look noisier than the underlying data actually was — the same thread three times, a location that didn't exist, months-old posts arriving as breaking news on day one.
How to use it
Nothing to configure. Existing alerts benefit automatically.
