r/theworldnews
News From Around The World
Founded April 2012 · Public — anyone can post
News from the 200+ countries around the world without any US related news, which would otherwise swamp it due to the US-centric nature the bulk of the reddit audience. Many of the submissions will be collected from the best of the worldnews, science, technology and environment subreddits and re-submitted so they're easily viewed in one place.

Welcome to the People's Republic of Suppressed News—the socialist /r/WorldNews— a left-wing space for international news and stories that don't fit or challenge western mainstream narratives. Stuff capitalists hate. Content should not come from western mainstream sources for this reason. We encourage content which challenges the internationally established order. Because of the nature of what is posted here, the sub is inherently critical of Western mainstream narratives.
[**UPDATE REGARDING THIS SUB**](https://www.reddit.com/r/NoFilterNews/comments/igohkk/a_few_changes_to_the_sub/) Is it news? Post it. I've set up an [IFTTT](https://ifttt.com) recipe to x-post every new submission made to /r/news, /r/worldnews, and various news outlets on YouTube. Basically, this sub is on autopilot. I'm not removing any news posted here. No bias. No filter. No censorship. --- RULES: * No harassment. * No slurs. * Follow Reddit's rules.

r/theworldnews — frequently asked
How many members does r/theworldnews have?
r/theworldnews has 58,925 members as of our most recent crawl on Sep 28. Prowlo re-checks tracked communities on a rolling schedule, so this figure moves rather than sitting frozen at whatever it was when a scraper last ran.
Is r/theworldnews growing?
Over the last ≈25 days r/theworldnews changed by +0.3% — a gain of 157 members. We compare against the nearest snapshot we actually hold and state the real span rather than rounding it to a clean "30 days".
How active is r/theworldnews?
We don't have a reliable posting-rate sample for r/theworldnews yet. Subscriber count alone is a poor guide to whether a community is active, so treat this one as unverified until the next sample lands.
When was r/theworldnews created?
r/theworldnews was founded in April 2012 and is a public — anyone can post community. Age matters: an older community with steady growth has survived Reddit's moderation churn; a young one with a spike may not.
Can I promote my product in r/theworldnews?
We don't have a promo-tolerance read for r/theworldnews yet. Default to the safe approach: read the sidebar rules, contribute in threads where you gain nothing, and mention your product only when it is the honest answer to someone's question.
How do I monitor r/theworldnews for mentions?
Hit Watch on this page. Prowlo starts crawling r/theworldnews into your Dataset — every new post indexed and embedded, searchable semantically, queryable by your AI agent over MCP, and able to trigger keyword alerts in Slack. Prowlo is read-only; it never posts on your behalf.
Can my AI agent read r/theworldnews's stats?
Yes. Everything on this page is one MCP tool call away: catalog_get_subreddit returns r/theworldnews's members, growth, promo tolerance and similar communities as typed JSON — free, no credits. Connect your agent to api.prowlo.com/mcp and it can vet the community and start watching it in the same conversation.
