Posting rules, in plain words
Self-promotion is allowed at a ratio — contribute before you post about yourself. Promotion goes in App Shelf Megathread (monthly). Post flair is required. Minimum 10 karma. Account must be 0 days old.
- Read This Before Posting: App Devs: No main feed promo unless you qualify via **Trust or Transparency** + **ABC** format (Answer, Better, Cost).
- Limited Self-Promotion: Infrequent self-promotion is permitted; however, it is not permitted more than once per developer in 30 days. This is counted from the last app post, even if it was removed.
- Limited Self-Promotion: ALWAYS disclose your relationship to your software in comments promoting your app. Promoting your own app in comments is disallowed until you earn **10 karma** in r/iOSApps, and is in poor taste when hijacking another developer's promotion.
- Official Distribution Channels Only: Download links must link to the App Store or TestFlight. Sideloaded or unnoficial sources are not allowed. Shortened links are not allowed.
Quoted from the community’s own published rules. Always re-read them before posting.

What r/iosapps's rules say about promotion
4 of 10 published rules mention promotion, advertising or spam. Quoted from the community's own rules page, not summarised.
Limited Self-Promotion
rule 3 of 10
Infrequent self-promotion is permitted; however, it is not permitted more than once per developer in 30 days. This is counted from the last app post, even if it was removed. For well-established, recognized devs with an app-flair, once per app per 30 days. ALWAYS disclose your relationship to your software in comments promoting your app. Promoting your own app in comments is disallowed until you earn **10 karma** in r/iOSApps, and is in poor taste when hijacking another developer's promotion.
No Affiliate / Referral / Invite Links
rule 5 of 10
Affiliate, referral, and invite links are not permitted since they attract spam and low-quality content.
No Promo Code Requests
rule 7 of 10
Do not ask for promo codes or discounts in the comments, not even when a publisher suggests it in their post. It's spam and will be treated as such. DM the publisher if you must, but don't announce it publicly. Same goes for developers: If you are offering a promotion, do not encourage users to comment for the code. Instead, either give a promo code that works for everyone **inside the post body** (preferred) or ask users to DM you privately.
Promote in Megathread
rule 8 of 10
As part of the **Trust vs. Transparency Initiative**, ALL who do not qualify through trust or transparency requirements must limit promotion to the monthly **App Shelf Megathread**. *Learn how to qualify to post in the main feed [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/iosapps/comments/1u9aw0f/riosapps_moderation_update_phase_2_trust/).*

How active is r/iosapps?
We don't have a reliable posting-rate sample for r/iosapps yet. Subscriber count alone is a poor guide to whether a community is active, so treat this one as unverified until the next sample lands.
When was r/iosapps created?

How do I monitor r/iosapps for mentions?

Can my AI agent read r/iosapps's stats?
Yes. Everything on this page is one MCP tool call away: catalog_get_subreddit returns r/iosapps's members, growth, promo tolerance and similar communities as typed JSON — free, no credits. Connect your agent to api.prowlo.com/mcp and it can vet the community and start watching it in the same conversation.
