Keyword Tracking
Keyword tracking lets you monitor Reddit for specific terms related to your product, industry, or competitors. When someone mentions your tracked keywords in any post, it appears in your feed — even posts the standard pipeline might skip.
How It Works
- Add keywords from the Keywords page (sidebar → Keywords) or through your AI assistant
- Backfill runs automatically — scans the last 7 days of posts for matches
- Ongoing monitoring — every new post is checked against your keywords in real-time
- Results appear in your feed with a purple “Keyword: [term]” badge
Adding Keywords
There are two ways to manage your keywords:
From the Dashboard
Navigate to Keywords. Click Add Keyword and enter a term or phrase.
From Your AI Assistant
If you've connected Prowlo via MCP, you can manage keywords conversationally. Just ask your AI assistant:
- "Show me my tracked keywords" — lists all keywords with match counts and status
- "Add a keyword for 'sales pipeline'" — creates a new tracked keyword
- "Pause the keyword 'CRM alternative'" — stops matching without deleting history
- "Delete the keyword 'old product name'" — permanently removes the keyword and its matches
See the AI Tool Integration guide for setup instructions.
Keyword Rules
- All words must appear in the post (AND logic) — “sales pipeline” matches posts containing both “sales” and “pipeline”
- Keywords are case-insensitive
- Keywords must be 2-100 characters
- You can set per-keyword notification frequency (None, Real-time, Hourly, Daily, Weekly)
Plan Limits
| Plan | Keywords |
|---|---|
| Free | — |
| Starter | 10 |
| Growth | 30 |
Plan limits apply whether you manage keywords from the dashboard or through your AI assistant. If you hit the limit, you can upgrade your plan or delete unused keywords.
Keyword Matches in Your Feed
Posts matching your keywords appear in the regular feed with a purple Keyword: [term] badge. Use the Keyword Matches filter pill to see only keyword-matched posts.
Keywords can surface posts that the standard AI pipeline would normally filter out — posts that aren’t questions, don’t contain intent signals, or are in unexpected subreddits. This makes keyword tracking a powerful discovery tool beyond the default relevance matching.
Per-Keyword Notifications
Each keyword has its own notification frequency. Set high-priority keywords (like your brand name or competitor names) to Real-time, and broader category terms to Daily digest.
Tips
- Start with 2-3 specific keywords, then expand based on results
- Track competitor names to find comparison discussions
- Track problem keywords (“slow CRM”, “project management headache”) to find pain-point discussions
- Use the AI-suggested keywords from your product profile as a starting point
- Pause low-performing keywords instead of deleting them — you can reactivate later without losing match history
Using keywords with Claude Cowork
When using Prowlo through Claude Cowork, you can ask Claude to review your keyword strategy. For example: "Show me my keywords and suggest new ones based on my product profile." Claude can access your product context and recommend keywords you might be missing.
