Google AI Mode is the heaviest Reddit user. Reddit, YouTube, and Facebook appeared in over 68% of AI Mode responses that included additional links. Google AI Mode also had the loosest relationship with traditional search rankings, meaning it's pulling from Reddit even when those threads don't rank on page one.

Google AI Overviews showed a 20% citation rate for Reddit specifically, making it the single most cited source in that format. Because AI Overviews appear directly at the top of search results, this means Reddit discussions are literally shaping the first thing people see when they search.
