# Prowlo > The MCP-native social data layer for AI agents. Prowlo crawls Reddit, X, Hacker News, Mastodon and RSS through a residential-proxy stack, embeds every record for semantic search, and serves the result to any agent over MCP, REST or webhook as clean, typed, schema-stable JSON. Prowlo is hosted — there is no open-source client and nothing to self-host. Agents connect to https://api.prowlo.com/mcp and sign in with OAuth. Prowlo is read-only: it never posts, votes or comments. Four nouns: **Watchers** ingest from the channels you choose; the **Dataset** is the vector-indexed corpus they fill; **Alerts** and **Trends** are persistent queries over that Dataset. Agents query the Dataset directly.
